Shrek the Third

So I went and saw Shrek the Third last night. This movie was a bit slow for me. Again there didn't really feel like there was much of a climax. I am amazed at the animation, especially the wrinkles around the queen's eyes, and always amused by the jokes, but the story line itself was a bit long and anticlimactic. All in all I think it rounded out the trilogy nicely. As long as it stays a trilogy.

Plot outline: When his new father-in-law, King Harold falls ill, Shrek is looked at as the heir to the land of Far, Far Away. Not one to give up his beloved swamp, Shrek recruits his friends Donkey and Puss in Boots to install the rebellious Artie as the new king. Princess Fiona, however, rallies a band of royal girlfriends to fend off a coup d'etat by the jilted Prince Charming.

Been a long time coming

I really haven't blogged in forever because I haven't been bored enough at work. But I have hit that point so now I am going to give some quick reviews on movies I have seen recently.

The Wicker Man- Does Nicholas Cage hate himself? Because this is one of the worst movies I had ever seen. Perhaps it is because I don't get what the message was, perhaps it is the belief that old traditions aren't always the best and human sacrifice is never good? Or maybe it is don't help people? Whatever Hollywood was trying to say- they should stop trying to say it through movies like that.

Meet the Robinsons- What a totally cute movie. It was hilarious, maybe a little mind boggling for kids what with time travel and all- but great none the less. It is one that I wouldn't mind watching over and over again. I love the running jokes of the frog girl and the crazy family.

Spiderman 3 was the last movie I saw. It was really, okay. I thought it was a bit slower the the previous movies, but I liked the characters- especially their humanity. I was a little disappointed with the ending, especially if there aren't going to be anymore with Tobby- but it seems like Hollywood never really likes to finish out movies anymore in case of the possibility of making one more.
